Proactive, not reactive

Most support waits
for a meltdown.
We prevent it.

Conventional sensory support is reactive – caregivers respond after a meltdown begins. Autism Intervene is proactive: our platform monitors biopotential signals and predicts sensory overload 30 to 60 seconds before it physically manifests.

Built on 6-channel biopotential sensing (EEG, ECG, EOG, EMG), processed wirelessly and delivered as a quiet caregiver alert before the point of no return.

The Core Problem

Reactive Autism Support Isn’t Enough for Sensory Overload

The standard care model responds to visible distress. By the time a caregiver sees signs of a meltdown, the buildup has usually been happening for several minutes already.

Reactive Model (Current Standard)
  • Caregiver notices behavioral escalation
  • Verbal or physical outburst already in progress
  • Intervention begins after distress has peaked
  • Recovery takes 20 to 90 minutes
  • Child and caregiver both experience distress
Proactive Model (Autism Intervene)
  • A calming routine built into everyday life
  • Guided sessions practiced before stress builds
  • Mood tracked over time to spot patterns early
  • Regulation practiced before escalation, not after
  • Fewer meltdowns. More dignity preserved.

The Science

How Early Sensory Overload Detection Actually Works

Every emotional and physical state the body moves through leaves a measurable electrical trace. The Sensory Monitor listens to four of these signals at once through a lightweight, wireless 6-channel sensor. On its own, each signal only tells part of the story. Read together, they often begin shifting several seconds before a meltdown becomes visible to a caregiver.

Brainwave Activity (EEG)

Two EEG channels track the ratio between beta and alpha wave activity, a pattern researchers commonly associate with rising cognitive and sensory load.

Heart Rhythm (ECG & HRV)

Heart rate variability tends to narrow under stress. Tracking it alongside brainwave data helps separate a true rising-stress pattern from ordinary movement or noise.

Motion Guard (EMG & EOG)

A dedicated muscle-activity channel filters out everyday motion, like walking, fidgeting, or stretching, so the system isn’t fooled by movement alone.

The Frequency Therapy Tool works differently. It uses binaural beat audio designed to encourage activity in the alpha wave range (8 to 12 Hz), frequencies broadly associated with calm, relaxed wakefulness. This is known as auditory neuromodulation, and like every tool we build, we’re upfront about what it is and isn’t.

Both tools are educational and exploratory. Neither is an FDA-cleared medical device, neither diagnoses or treats any condition, and results vary by individual. Please involve your child’s care team in any new sensory routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for Families Considering These Tools

Is the hardware safe for my child to wear?

Yes. The sensor hardware uses the same low-voltage, non-invasive biopotential sensing found in consumer heart-rate monitors and EEG headbands. It only reads existing electrical signals and never delivers any electrical stimulation to the body. It is not a medical device and has not been evaluated by the FDA, so we recommend talking with your child’s care team before starting any new sensory routine.

What happens to my child’s data?

Privacy matters especially when the data involves a child. Session data from both tools is processed and stored locally on your own Windows computer. It is not uploaded to a cloud server or shared with any third party. You control every export, like PDF session reports, and can delete session history at any time.

How hard is it to set up?

The Frequency Therapy Tool is a standard Windows download. Install it and you can start a guided session within a few minutes, no extra hardware required. The Sensory Monitor pairs with the 6-channel sensor over Bluetooth; our setup guide walks through pairing, calibration, and your first baseline reading in under 15 minutes.

Why is a Windows desktop app completely free, with no subscription?

Autism Intervene is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, not a company selling a product. Every tool we build exists because families told us what they needed and couldn’t afford. We fund development through grants, donations, and community support specifically so no family ever has to pay for access.

Texas Roots, Growing Reach

Proudly Based in Texas, Serving Families Everywhere

Autism Intervene was founded in Texas, and our first conversations were with local families, therapists, and educators living the gap between reactive support and what actually helps. That grounding still shapes everything we build. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-2427219), we’re actively partnering with ABA providers, autism advocacy groups, and therapy centers across Texas to bring these tools into more homes, completely free, for as long as we exist.

Local First

Every feature started as a conversation with a Texas family, not a lab.

Community Built

Warm partnerships with ABA providers and advocacy groups across the state shape our roadmap.

Always Free

As a nonprofit, our incentive is reach, not revenue. Every tool stays free, forever.

Accountability & Oversight

Building Our Advisory Network

As a young nonprofit, we’re intentionally transparent about where we are. We’re actively building relationships with occupational therapists, neuroscientists, and pediatric clinicians to review our tools and help guide our roadmap. If you’re a clinician, researcher, or therapist who wants to help shape responsible, family-centered assistive technology, we’d welcome the conversation.

Direct Family Support

Financial Assistance for Families in Need

Beyond our free software and hardware tools, Autism Intervene provides direct financial assistance to families facing hardship. Every request is reviewed with care and confidentiality, and support is funded entirely through donor contributions, not government funding or program fees. If cost is a barrier to accessing sensory support, therapy, or essential equipment for your child, we want to help.

Confidential Review

Every request for assistance is reviewed privately and respectfully, with no judgment attached.

Donor Funded

100% of assistance funds come from individual donors and community fundraising, not fees of any kind.

No Cost to Apply

Requesting support costs nothing and carries no obligation. We simply want to help.
